KOZHIKODE: A new Land Rover Velar, worth over Rs 1 crore, caught fire and was completely charred. The car, which belonged to Kozhikode native Prajeesh, caught fire while it was parked in the parking area near a football turf at East Nadakkavu.

The incident took place today morning at around 7.30. Upon parking the car at the parking area, Prajeesh saw smoke coming out from the car. Although he tried to douse the fire by dousing water, the car got completely burnt. A major accident was avoided as the nearby vehicles were immediately moved from the area. Prajeesh bought the car two months ago. The car company may conduct a detailed investigation into the incident.
