THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Although four months have passed since the state government agreed to the private bus owners' demand regarding the hike on bus fares, no final decision has been made in this regard so far. With this, the private bus owners in the state are planning to launch protests.

The bus owners are demanding that the minimum bus fare in the state should be raised to Rs 12. They are also demanding that the bus fare for students should be hiked to Rs 6.

Private bus owners in the state are not happy with the fact that the private bus industry was overlooked in this year's state budget. The bus owners have warned that they will go on an indefinite strike if the bus fares are not hiked soon. A decision in this regard will be taken within two days.
