THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Angamaly native Sipsy, the grandmother of one-and-half-year-old Nora Maria, was arrested from Beemapally earlier today. She had gone into hiding after the police registered a case against her in connection with the child's death. It is learned that Sipsy is now causing a headache for the police officials. She hurled insults at the police on being brought to the police station. She even attempted to take off her clothes. Police officers found it pretty difficult to stop her from doing so.
Sipsy had reached Thiruvananthapuram on Friday and stayed in a hotel in Thampanoor. She went to the Beemappalli area, in disguise, on Saturday morning. The Poonthura police took her into custody following an investigation based on secret information. Police are now trying to find Sipsy's friend Mini, who helped her to stay in hiding. Following her arrest, Sipsy was taken to the Thiruvananthapuram Fort Hospital and subjected to a medical examination. Sipsy's name was found in the rowdy list at the Angamaly police station. Sources said that she used to hurl abuses at the police and take off her clothes whenever she got caught by the police. She had once climbed on top of the police station building and threatened to kill herself. Earlier, she had beaten a woman in the middle of the road for not giving way to her vehicle. Sipsy is an accused in various theft and drug-related cases.
It was Sipsy's lover John Binoy who drowned the one-and-a-half-year-old child in a bucket in a hotel room. Police have already arrested him. Both John and Sipsy had been involved in a relationship for the last six years. Sipsy had been living together with John and her son's two children in a hotel room since March 5.
