KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister of Nepal has thanked India and Narendra Modi for evacuating Nepali nationals from Ukraine through Operation Ganga. Nepal's Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba thanked Modi on Twitter. 'Four Nepali nationals have just arrived in Nepal from Ukraine via India. Thank you Prime Minister Modi and the Government of India for the assistance in repatriating Nepali nationals through the Operation Ganga', wrote Nepal Pm on twitter.

So far, India has evacuated six Nepali nationals from Ukraine. Nepal has sought the help of the Indian government to repatriate citizens stranded in Ukraine. Operation Ganga is a project launched by the Central Government to rescue Indian citizens from Ukraine and the border countries in the aftermath of the Russia-Ukraine war. The mission, which began on February 22, ended on March 8. 18,000 Indians were evacuated by special flights. The Indian Air Force operated 12 services to repatriate 2,467 passengers as part of Operation Ganga. More than 32 tons of relief supplies were delivered.
