KOCHI: The father of the one-and-a-half-year-old toddler, who was murdered by grandmother's lover in a lodge, has been arrested. Sajeevan, the father of the deceased toddler, was earlier taken into police custody on the day of the incident. Grandmother Sipsy, who was absconding after the incident, was arrested by the police from Poonthura today.

A case has been registered against the father under the Juvenile Justice Department for failing to take care of the child. The baby's murder was sparked by a dispute between accused John Binoy Dcruz and Sipsy over paternity of the child. Sipsy was not in the room at the time of the incident. John killed the baby by drowning her in a bucket in the bathroom of the lodge. He was arrested on the day of the incident.

Sipsy and his son Sajeevan are accused in several cases. Sipsy is also on the KD list. After her arrest today, Sipsy hurled abuses at the police and tried to take off her clothes.
