KOCHI: In the case of murdering a one-and a half-year-old baby identified as Norah Maria in a hotel room, the baby’s grandma Sipsy and father Sajeev, arrested will be produced in the court today. The two had gone absconding and were arrested yesterday.

Sipsy was caught from Thiruvananthapuram and Sajeev from Angamaly. The two were arrested on the complaint of the baby’s mother Dicsy. A case was registered against them under the Juvenile Justice Act for failing to protect the child.

The baby was murdered on March 7 by Sipsy’s lover John Binoy D’cruz by dipping her in a bucket of water at a lodge in Kaloor, Kochi. The dispute between D’cruz and Sipsy over the paternity of the child ended in the murder. He was arrested earlier. The police will investigate in detail whether Sipsy has a role in the murder.

Sipsy and Sajeev are accused in many cases. When the two were brought to the police station yesterday, they hurled abuses at the police and tried to remove their clothes.
