THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The temperature is likely to rise in the state even today. In six districts, the temperature is likely to soar between two to three degree celsius. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius in Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur.

Presently the temperature in Kottayam and Kollam is 37 degrees Celsius and in Thrissur 38 degrees Celsius. Special caution is required in places like Palakkad, Vellanikkara and Punalur.

Temperature in most places are likely to cross 36 degrees Celsius. Authorities have asked people to be vigilant. Outdoor work has been prohibited from 12 to 3 pm.
