KOCHI: Crucial details have surfaced about Dileep’s attempt to sabotage the conspiracy case to endanger the investigating officials in the actress attack case. The crime branch has found that the chats on Dileep’s phone with 12 people have been destroyed. These were the chats with crucial people linked to the case. The crime branch has sought the assistance of a forensic Science lab for restoring the chats. It is learned that they may receive the lab report within two days.
The crime branch had earlier found the mirror copy of destroying the evidence in the mobile phone at a lab in Mumbai. The crucial documents were found in an investigation conducted at this lab. Every file was examined and evidence was destroyed. The crime branch have also collected the phone’s forensic examination reports made by the lab on its own. The phones were sent to the lab from Kochi via courier, the receipt of which was also recovered from the lab.
The crime branch has found out that Vincent Chowalloor, a Malayalee residing in Mumbai, had introduced Dileep’s lawyers to the lab. Vincent, a former income tax commissioner, is an accused in the case in which CBI has filed chargesheet. The cases of Dileep and Vincent are handled by the same lawyer. It was on the lawyer’s demand that Vincent helped them approach the lab. Vincent had earlier confessed that he also went to the lab, along with Dileep’s lawyers, to collect the phones.
