The reasons for continuous defeats of Congress is some people clinging to power like a leech. The desire to always remain in power is terrible. Men can have have desires but greed is unacceptable. Robert Vadra had earlier announced his intention to enter politics. Only Vadra is left to join Congress from Nehru family. He continued to criticize Rahul Gandhi. 'Rahul Gandhi was defeated as he thought he would win from Amethi forever. I am not a fan of Smriti Irani and I will never be. After the defeat, she went there regularly and worked. Rahul went there five years later.'
Padmanabhan, who has been a Congressman since 1940, said that he remained a Gandhian at the age of 93 and had been wearing Khadi since 1943. He made it clear that he had never been interested in power politics and recalled visiting the house of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. Sharing his memory of Shastri, Padmanabhan said that the leaders of the past were symbols of simplicity.
