THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: SFI has raised its objection in the opinion of Transport Minister Antony Raju on the concession issue. Antony Raju's opinion is immature. The organization made it clear that the concession was the right of the students and not anyone's generosity. Concession is a right gained through many struggles. SFI state president V A Girish and secretary K M Sachindev MLA said the minister's remarks would affect the student favour attitude of the Front. The minister's comments had to be made carefully.

The minister said the concession rate for students has been Rs 2 for the last 10 years. He said that two rupees is a shame for the students and they five rupees and do not buy the rest. The concession rate is expected to be Rs 5. The minister was responding to concession issue on Sunday after bus owners said that they would go on an indefinite strike as the government has not taken any action to increase rate even after four months. The bus owners want the minimum charge to be Rs 12 and the concession rate to be Rs 6.
