KOCHI: Famous writer T. Padmanabhan has criticized the Congress for its pathetic performance after losing the elections in five states. His criticism was during the inauguration function of Paul P. Mani Library and the Sabarmati Study and Research Center organized by the Ernakulam DCC. Several Congress leaders were also present at the occassion.
He also sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi's defeat in Amethi. He said he was not a fan of Smriti Irani and would never be. I bow down her for success even after the defeat in Amethi. "After the defeat, she regularly visited the constituency. She didn't say that these are people who defeated me and that I would never come here again. She got the result in five years. It was then that Rahul Gandhi came to Wayanad. If one party decides, it can defeat the Congress. They are constantly striving for it." Padmanabhan said it was none other than the Congress party itself.
The reasons for continuous defeats of Congress is some people clinging to power like a leech. The desire to always remain in power is terrible. Men can have have desires but greed is unacceptable. Robert Vadra had earlier announced his intention to enter politics. Only Vadra is left to join Congress from Nehru family. He criticised Congress while Opposition leader Satheesan, MM Hasan and Ernakulam DCC President Mohammad Shias were present on the stage.
