PALA: The Pala police arrested a man for stealing a fully pregnant goat and selling its meat. Pala circle inspector K P Tomson and his team arrested Saju Joseph, 45, of Kizhakkechenal. The police have recovered the goat’s skin and severed legs from his house. Saju Joseph stole the sheep of Sarojini, his neighbour of Kudakkachira Varakapill.


Police said Saju untied the goat tied in a land, took it to his house and then killed the animal at the back of his house. He even sold the meat of the unborn calf. Police have intensified search for Benny, Bineesh and Robbins for helping Saju.

In a similar circumstance, three of Sarojini’s goats were stolen earlier. Meantime, it has been alleged that efforts have started by a team led by a people’s representative to save the three accused who were with Saju Joseph. Though they were summoned for questioning, it has been complained that they were released soon. Police said evidences will be collected from people who bought the meat from him. Saju Jospeh, the first accused produced in Pala Court, has been remanded.
