THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: What is happening in the state now is police goondaism and these are all in the name of Silver Line, said P C Vishnunath. He said the Kerala Police is unleashing violence in the state and are thrashing parents in front of their children. He said this while speaking after moving an adjournment motion on Silver Line in the assembly. P C Vishnunath started the discussion.
‘The government's readiness to discuss the motion is a victory of the opposition, activists and housewives. The government had earlier asserted that there was no need to discuss the issue. They have now gone backwards. The stone was laid without following the norms. Social violence is seen in Kerala instead of a study on social impact. This is a proud project of the government. K Rail is to get commission. Outdated materials are being imposed and the project is a mystery. Who demanded the project? The police are guarding the dangerous yellow pole. The opposition will go ahead with the slogan 'don’t want K Rail, Kerala is enough,’ Vishnunath said.
The government agreed for a discussion after the opposition moved an adjournment motion on the Silver Line project. Permission was given for the discussion unexpectedly. This is the first adjournment motion notice to be discussed after the second Pinarayi government came to power. The notice was given by Vishnunath to discuss the issue. Two hours’ time was given for the discussion.
The opposition in the notice alleged that the government is going forward with the project after keeping the assembly in dark. The clashes in connection with the survey proceedings and laying of stones are a great concern for the people. While replying to the notice, the chief minister informed the house that they were ready for a detailed discussion.
