KYIV: The fourth round of talks between Ukraine and Russia, which took place yesterday, will resume today. Ukraine's envoy Mikhail Podoliak said on Twitter that the talks ended last night and would continue today.

The discussion started via video conference from 10.30 am Ukraine time yesterday. Ukraine's envoy Mikhail Podoliak had called on Russia to declare an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. He also urged Russian forces should withdraw from the country as early as possible.

However, Russian President Vladimir Putin said yesterday that military action would continue and that they would withdraw only if Ukraine stopped fighting. All the previous three discussions proved to be failures.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated yesterday that his group's main mission was to hold a direct meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the conflict.
