THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI has claimed that it was the CPM that had fatally wounded the Communist movement in India by splitting the party and that they should come forward to admit their mistakes, albeit belatedly. The CPI was responding to an article published in the CPM's weekly Chintha.
According to the article published in Chintha weekly, CPI was a party that should have given up its communist name and red flag. The CPI responded to this by coming up with an article in its weekly 'Navayugam'.
In its article, CPI said it was CPM that wounded the communist movement by splitting the party instead of resolving the CPI's long-standing differences of opinion through internal party discussions.
'The discrepancies in their ideas were handed down from the Chinese Communist Party. The article in Chintha has stated several stupid things about the CPI. The CPI split as a result of the Chinese Communist Party's moves to divide the world's communist parties according to its own declaration. When China invaded India in 1962, the CPI was insulted for the sole reason of its opposition. Unaware of the facts, the CPM became a praiser of the ideology and activities of the Chinese party.
Isn't it the CPM that is responsible for the series of assassinations and violence that took place after getting fascinated by the Chinese line. Will the CPM be able to avoid the emergence of the Naxalbari movement in India? The CPM had taken a cunning stand, by supporting the Chinese position against India,' the article in Navayugam rad.
