NEW DELHI: Students have approached the Supreme Court challenging the Karnataka High Court's judgement in the Hijab case. The six students who filed the petition said that the High Court verdict was disappointing and that wearing a hijab was their right. A special leave petition has been filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of student Niba. The students claim that the right to wear the hijab falls under the right to privacy and that the Karnataka Education Act does not stipulate that students must wear a uniform.
