THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Weather forecasters have predicted that Kerala will receive summer rain very soon. Isolated areas will receive rainfall. Several parts, including the capital city, had received light rain after a long hot summer.

A low-pressure area has developed in the southwestern Bay of Bengal. As a result, the state is likely to receive rain. Southern districts are expected to receive more rainfall.

Hilly areas, forests and coastal areas are likely to receive more rainfall. It is learnt that the low-pressure area is moving towards the Tamil Nadu coast. Weather forecasters have also predicted another low-pressure area by March 20. The state will receive average summer rainfall till March 20. After that, the rainfall will depend on the nature of the low-pressure.


Meanwhile, several parts of the state have been witnessing unusual heat in the last few days. Weathermen said that temperature may go up two to three degree Celsius above normal in certain areas.
