KATTAPPANA: Police have arrested a youth who killed his friend by mixing poison in liquor and abandoned the body in the forest area. The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar (17), son of Nettithozhu native Pawan Kumar. The arrested youth has been identified as Praveen Kumar(23), friend and neighbour of Rajkumar.

The body was found at the top of the cliff in a forest area in the Maniyampetti region. Praveen Kumar told the police that he murdered Rajkumar out of spite for misbehaving with his sister.

On Monday, Rajkumar's family had submitted a missing complaint at the police station. Upon investigating, the investigation team found that Praveen and Rakumar were seen together in the last few days. Following this, the police took Praveen into custody. The accused confessed the crime during questioning.
