THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The opposition staged protest and walkout in the Assembly to protest the Speaker's decision not to consider an adjournment motion notice seeking re-investigation or CBI probe into the latest revelations in the Venjarammoodu twin murder case. The opposition MLAs moved into the well of the assembly and raised slogans against the government and the speaker.

It was Shafi Parambil who gave an adjournment motion notice asking the assembly to discuss the former CPM leader's revelation that the police did not investigate the real conspiracy behind the incident. Speaker MB Rajesh did not consider the notice stating that this was not a recent incident and that the trial of the case was about to begin in court. Although opposition leader VD Satheesan pointed out that adjournment motion can be considered in cases where new disclosures occur in accordance with Rule 50, the speaker did not give permission.

With this, opposition MLAs entered the well of the assembly and raised slogans against the speaker. They continued to protest for around 15 minutes. Following this, they staged a walkout.
