KOCHI: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which probed the case where the models were killed in a car accident, filed a charge sheet against eight accused, including Fort Kochi No 18 hotel owner Roy J Vayalat, in the Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate's Court.

The SIT has named Abdul Rahman, the driver of the car in which the models were travelling, as the first accused. Saiju M Thankachan, who followed the car of models at high speed, has been named the second accused. Roy J Vayalat has been named the third accused in the case.

According to the 1120-page charge sheet, the accident took place as Abdul Rahman was speeding under the influence of alcohol and Saiju was chasing them with malicious intent.

The other accused in the case are the employees of No 18 hotel who helped Roy destroy the CCTV camera footage of the hotel.

The accident took place on November 1, 2021, on the Palarivattom bypass. Former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabeer, runner-up Anjana Shajan and their friend Mohammad Aashiq were killed in the accident.
