NEW DELHI: Vivek Agnihotri’s latest directorial ‘The Kashmir Files’, which depicts the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, has become a topic of discussion across the country. The film sheds light upon the exodus that took place over three decades ago. However, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Chief and Dhubri MP Badruddin Ajmal has demanded a ban on the film in order to avoid communal tensions. The central government and the Assam government should immediately intervene in the matter, he said.
“I haven't watched ‘The Kashmir Files’. Situation is not same in present-day India. Many incidents happened beyond Kashmir, including the Nellie incident in Assam, but no films on them”, he added. States like Goa, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand had recently declared the film tax-free.
