THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A special unit will be formed in the Kerala Police to investigate financial crimes. 233 posts will be created for this section which will be formed under the Crime Branch. There will be 226 executive posts and seven ministerial posts.
The executive posts are one IG, four SPs, 11 DYSPs, 19 Inspectors, 29 ASIs, 73 each SCPO, CPO and 16 drivers. The unit will be tasked with investigating financial crimes such as fraud, financial fraud, money laundering, breach of trust and forgery. The decision was approved by the Cabinet.
The Cabinet also decided to provide various benefits and concessions to the K-Fon project. Right of way approvals will be avoided from departments under the state government, their subordinate offices, local self governments, public sector undertakings and other institutions. There will be a condition that prior notice be given. They will also be exempted from paying off the Right of Way charges. Annual infrastructure charges, rent, pole rentals, restoration charges / reinstatement charges and other charges will be waived.
It was decided to waive the submission of security deposit, bank guarantee and performance bank guarantee in the above institutions.
