NEW DELHI: A meeting of the Congress' G-23 leaders in Delhi called for a collective leadership in the Congress. The G-23 leaders met at the residence of Ghulam Nabi Azad. The leaders said in a joint statement that a broader consultation was needed on organizational matters. The leaders also demanded the formation of a coalition of like-minded people to oppose the BJP.
Apart from Shashi Tharoor from Kerala, PJ Kurian also attended the meeting. Leaders Kapil Sibal, Anand Sharma, Manish Tiwari, Bhupinder Hooda, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Prithviraj Chavan, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Kuldeep Sharma, Raj Babbar and Amarinder Singh's wife Praneeth Kaur were also present at the meeting. Ghulam Nabi Azad will meet Sonia Gandhi on Thursday. The recommendations of the G-23 meeting will be communicated to Sonia Gandhi on Thursday.
