THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC will intensify the Congress membership drive. This is the first time in the state that a digital membership campaign has been launched. Congress workers will lead the membership drive by conducting house visits at the booth and mandalam levels to give membership. The membership drive is scheduled to end on March 31. The leadership is concerned about the lack of speed of the membership drive. The Rs 137 Challenge also did not yield the desired results.

Enrollers selected from each block will be trained on a regional basis to implement the membership process systematically. KPCC President K Sudhakaran and Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan, Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala will be present.

Training will be given to those elected from the block, DCC presidents, KPCC office bearers in the respective areas and general secretaries in charge of the districts.

The regional meetings for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts will be held on March 18 in Thiruvananthapuram, while meetings for Kannur and Kasaragod districts will take place on March 19 in Kannur. The meeting for Kozhikode, Wayanad and Malappuram districts will take place in Kozhikode on March 20, whereas meeting for Ernakulam, Kottayam, Alappuzha and Idukki districts will take place in Ernakulam on March 21. In addition, a meeting of the Block Congress Committees will be convened on March 18 and the Mandalam Congress Committees on March 20.

A complete membership campaign will be organized on March 27 in all the booths in Kerala. Leaders from the KPCC president to the booth level leaders will visit houses in their constituencies and booths to participate in the membership drive. The membership war room has been set up at the KPCC office to coordinate membership activities and resolve technical issues. Membership war rooms will be set up in the districts as well.

KPCC president K Sudhakaran has rubbished reports that the reorganization in Congress was stopped."The report that the reorganization has been stopped is baseless. Official matters will be conveyed by the KPCC spokesperson. The Congress leadership had stated that the focus should be on the membership drive. This was distorted by some people," Sudhakaran said.
