THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Speaking at the public debate on the budget, finance minister KN Balagopal announced that a loan scheme of Rs 1,000 crore would be implemented with the cooperation of KFC for traders and industrialists in the state. Autorickshaws are exempt from the green tax on diesel vehicles. The Rs 5 crore property development fund of MLAs, which was suspended due to Covid, will be reinstated from April. Rs 5 crore was set aside for the completion of Sivagiri Convention Centre. A total of Rs 46.35 crore additional expenditure was included in the budget.

Land tax slab

The basic land tax slab announced in the budget was further clarified. The tax slab will be Rs 5 up to 8.16 ares in panchayats and Rs 8 above that. In municipal areas, this will be Rs 10 up to 2.436 ares and Rs 15 above it. In the corporate sector, Rs.20 up to 1.62 ares and Rs.25 above that.
