KOCHI: The Kerala High Court refused to stay the crime branch probe in the conspiracy case to eliminate the investigating officers in the actress attack case. Meantime, Justice K Haripal withdrew from considering the actor’s plea. The court clarified that they cannot intervene in the investigation of the case. The case has been postponed to next week. Another bench will consider the case then.

Siddharth Agarwal, a senior lawyer of the apex court appeared for the actor. Dileep said the case was fabricated and the probe should be stayed till their argument is completed. But the high court did not accept his demand. The court informed to hear the detailed arguments in the case on March 28.

The prosecution told the court that there was evidence for the conspiracy to endanger the officers and for destroying information from their phones. The prosecution also said Dileep had removed data from the mobile phone in the case with the help of an expert before submitting the phone. The investigation team submitted to the court the scientific examination reports of the phones related to this.

However, Dileep told the court that he had not destroyed any evidence related to the case. He said only private chats unrelated to the case were deleted from his phone. In a reply to the court, Dileep said the arguments against him were baseless.
