KOCHI: Alappuzha native Sagar Vincent, a witness in the actress assault case, has filed a petition in the high court alleging that investigating officer Baiju Paulose was threatening him. In his petition, Sagar stated that Baiju Paulose was threatening him to change his earlier statement in the case. He also alleged that Baiju was forcing him to give a new statement as told by him.

The petitioner was an employee of Lakshya, a company owned by actress Kavya Madhavan's brother. He quit his job in July 2017 due to a salary dispute and returned home. He now earns his living by driving an autorickshaw. Police had added him as a witness in the actress assault case.

"Baiju Paulose had asked me to give a statement as told by him. However, I ignored that and told the truth before the CJM as a confidential statement. I've said the truth in court as well. Following this, Baiju Paulose started threatening me," Sagar said.

Baiju Paulose had issued a notice to Sagar asking him to appear on March 2. Since he did not reply to that notice Sagar was again given the notice asking him to appear today.

The petitioner, who contends that Baiju Paulose might physically and mentally torture him, has demanded to avoid further action on the notice.
