THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The opposition members boycotted the assembly today also in protest against the police for using force on the activists of the protest panel who stopped the officials when they came to lay the survey stones for the SilverLine Project at Madappally in Changanassery. They protested with placards and banners during question hour.
Opposition leader V D Satheesan said the Pinarayi government is taking an anti-women stance. The opposition leader reacted by pointing the atrocities towards women who protested against the Silverline and attack towards a law college student. He also criticized the non-bailable offence charged against those attacked in the law college issue and also for not arresting the accused.
Satheesan said they are going to Madappally after boycotting the assembly and will intensify the agitation by holding discussions with the women and children who were thrashed yesterday and the strike will continue till the government withdraws. The opposition leader also accused the chief minister of being arrogant of power. He said the chief minister has no eyes to see the truth and is blinded by arrogance. Satheesan also said the state level inauguration of the 100 rallies to be started by the opposition against the SilverLine will be held tomorrow.
