KOZHIKODE: A number of women have levelled serious allegations against the police in connection with the protest held against the SilverLine project at Kallayi in Kozhikode. The women who took part in the protest were forcibly removed by the police and dragged along the ground. The women also said they were stabbed with lathi.

Earlier, the locals had staged a protest when the K-Rail authorities reached the area without prior notice. They removed seven survey stones that were installed by the authorities. Kozhikode MP MK Raghavan reached the spot and asked the Collector to stop the action. Three people were arrested by the police following the protest action.

Kochi and Mamala also witnessed protests similar to those witnessed in Kottayam and Kozhikode.
