KOZHIKODE: There is no need to hold discussions with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s supporters in the K-Rail issue. Instead, an all-party meeting should be convened, said BJP state president K Surendran. The Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) should file cases not against the protesters but against the policemen. The BJP will take over K-Rail protests everywhere, he said.
The BJP is preparing for a massive struggle organizing all those people who will lose their lands, houses, shops among others because of the K-Rail project. K-Rail is a project that is causing huge hardship for Kerala. This is not just the problem of those who are evicted from their lands, he added.
‘Kerala is being divided into two parts by a height of around seven to eight metres. Such a project if implemented in Kerala, a state which is prone to floods and shortage of rain, would prove to be detrimental in the future. There is no logic in laying stones now. Should yellow stones be laid to conduct social impact assessments? The government has misled the high court. We have seen how the policemen handled women and children in Madappally and Kallayi. With the second Pinarayi government, the state in a dictatorship’, said Surendran.
