Actress Bhavana’s entry to the inaugural function of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) was an unexpected one. While inviting distinguished guests one by one just to the stage before the inaugural function, Chalachitra Academy chairman Renjith invited Bhavana to the dais.
Renjith said that it was his decision to invite the actress. I had informed the chief minister and his office about it. He said that he took the decision after consulting with his colleagues of Chalachitra Academy.
‘It's only a matter of some minds finding negativity when trying to do something. It is a kind of mental illness. I don’t care about it. No one can threaten me in the name of that,’ he said. Renjith said her visit was kept secret thinking media’s attention would create problems.
‘I took films only with men and women. I had not taken films with birds and animals. Such bad language will not affect me. As the chairman of the Chalachitra Academy I will do what I feel like doing. There will be nothing against the policies of the government.
There is one thing to understand, you spoke about Bhavana. Anurag Kashyap is in the same stage. A man who has not been able to set foot in his native UP for six years. Should not say that just because he is a man,' Ranjith said.
