THODUPUZHA: Hameed, the accused in the murder in Cheenikuzhi, was brought home and evidence was collected. He was brought here by a large contingent of police. As the house was in an open area, many locals came to the spot knowing that he was being brought there.
The people demanded the police to give maximum punishment to the accused Hameed. The police had a hard time controlling the people who rushed to attack and insult him. Throughout the evidence collection, Hameed was seen least bothered about the happenings around him. After collecting evidence, the police took him to Karimannur station. He will be produced before the magistrate by 6 p.m.
Hameed, 79, on Saturday morning, murdered his son Faisal, 45, his wife Sheeba, 45, and daughters Mehra and Asna by setting them ablaze after pouring petrol following a property dispute. He locked the house to commit the murder. He then threw a bottle of petrol inside. He also disconnected the water connection to prevent them from escaping in any way.
Hameed had earlier complained to the police that his son was not looking after him even after handing over the property. He also complained that he was not given the food he liked. Disputes and scuffles were frequent over this. It is learned that a scuffle took place between Hameed and Mohammad Faisal Friday morning as well.
