KOCHI: Reports of SilverLine survey stones being laid, uprooted and restored are a common sight nowadays. However, there have been no such instance in which the anti-SilverLine protesters had to face a complaint for uprooting the survey stones. But, such a complaint was lodged on Sunday. On Friday, an argument had occurred between the locals and K-Rail authorities over the laying of stones at Mamala in Thiruvaniyoor panchayat in the Piravom constituency. The Congress activists had uprooted a survey stone laid in a house in the area.
However, Mullaikkal Sarala Ravindran, the house owner, had lodged a complaint against the Congress activists alleging that they had trespassed into her house. Following which, the survey stones were restored by the K-Rail officials in the presence of Chottanikkara police.
As the locals, BJP and Congress activists staged protests against K-Rail, the authorities did not arrive for laying the stones in the area, last day. Meantime, KPCC President K Sudhakaran said that K-Rail, which pushes people including women into strikes, will destroy the state’s families. He also directed to begin an airline service namely ‘Fly in Kerala’ as an alternative to the K-Rail project.
