ARJUN TANK

NEW DELHI: Tanks are important on a battlefield as it is capable of inflicting mass destruction on enemy soil. They also have the task of clearing the way filled with mines and ditches hidden by the enemy. Recently, countries have shown more interest in lighter tanks than heavy ones. Light tanks are preferred for their ability to move fast and as it can be taken to high altitudes using aircrafts. But now the Gulf nation of Bahrain has expressed interest in buying India's heavy tanker, the Arjun Mk-1A. Bahrain's interest in the heavy tanker came following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine was able to destroy some of the Russian tanks that had invaded Ukraine with anti-tank missiles. Arjun Mk-1A, one of the heavy battle tanks, can't be defeated easily through enemy attacks. It is also reported that a laser system developed by India in collaboration with Israel will be installed in Arjun soon.

The Indian-made guided missile system can also be used in these. The main gun in the tanker can fire six to eight rounds per minute. Trials have shown that Indian-made tanks are far better than Russia's T90 tanks. Arjun tanks are much safer from attacks of enemy tanks and anti-tank missiles. In addition to this, the Arab country is drawn to the fact that Arjun Mk-1 fares well in the deserts.
