KOLENCHERRY: Subbarao Padmam, a resident of Chennai, became the winner of lottery ticket sold by Pattimattam native Smija. Similarly, Smija kept her word as she handed over last year's summer bumper ticket worth Rs 6 crore to the owner.

Second prize worth Rs 25 lakhs was won by the ticket sold by her. Smija is waiting to hand over the ticket to the owner.

The second prize won by ticket number SE703553 was taken from Vishnu Lotteries, Aluva. After retiring from a leading private bank, Padmam lives with her sister in Chennai. She regularly comes to Kerala for pilgrimage and thus got acquainted with Smija. She regularly takes tickets by paying amount through bank. Smija himself called her and informed her about the prize. Subbarao Padmam told Kerala Kaumudi that she would reach Aluva in two days to collect the tickets.

Although Padma offered to help Smija several times, she refused. Smija's honesty and sincerity inspired her to love and get close to her like a sibling.

Last year's Summer Bumper first prize Rs 6 crore was won by a ticket sold by Smija on lend. She handed over the ticket to the winner on the same day. Thus, Smija Rajeshwaran, a post-graduate in Mathematics, became popular for her honesty.

Smija and her husband runs a lottery shop on the roadside near Rjagiri hospital, Aluva. Her condition has not been improved after selling bumper ticket last year. Jagath and Lukhaid are her children.
