THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Excise has found that deadly drugs were smuggled in from abroad by courier and sold in Thiruvananthapuram for six months and deals worth lakhs were done like this. The information was obtained during the interrogating Arun Das, of Harinivas in Kulathur's Kallingal, who was arrested with MDMA and hashish oil from his flat in Kazhakoottam yesterday. There are also indications that there were drug dealings with top officials, including doctors and engineers. The Assistant Excise Commissioner said the main accused in the case, a native of Vettoroad, would be arrested soon. More information will come out once he is caught.
The drugs were delivered by courier at the parcel establishment in Kochi. The Vetturoad native spent money on booking and buying drugs online. The transaction was done through Google Pay. His bank account details have been collected by Excise. Arundas was in charge of drug distribution. The deals were done in a rented flat of a friend who works at Technopark. The friend was unaware of this as the transactions were done only when the friend went to work.
Excise also found that they had links with Faisal from Kozhikode and Shiva Vikramadithyan from Peyad in Thiruvananthapuram, who were earlier arrested in Kochi in a drug case. The accused had bought drugs from them.
