HONG KONG: The international flight services which were banned due to the severe Covid surge will resume soon, said Hong Kong Chief Executive Officer Carrie Lam. The ban on flights from nine countries including India have been lifted. The flight services will be resumed from April 1 onwards.
The Hong Kong authorities had placed flight bans on eight countries which were deemed high-risk after the highly transmissible Omicron variant emerged in January. Flights from Nepal were also banned in February.
The US, Britain, France, Canada, Pakistan, Australia, Philippines are the countries whose flights were suspended. Flight bans have been lifted following the drop in Covid cases.
