KARACHI: Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has surprised many by heaping praise on India. Though Pakistan used to criticize India for every matter, the situation seems to be different now. Imran Khan praised India's neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine issue.

Imran Khan said that the foreign policy of India was independent and for the betterment of the people. "Today, India is an ally of the United States. India is also a member of the QUAD. The QUAD comprises India, Japan, the United States and Australia. Yet, India says it is neutral," Imran Khan said.

Imran Khan made the statement at a public rally. Imran Khan also pointed out that India was importing oil from Russia despite sanctions imposed on Russia by the US and other countries following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

At present, the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Army are in two tiers. A recent report stated that the army had asked Imran Khan to resign. The Prime Minister does not seem to have a clear influence on Pakistan's foreign policy. Sources said that Imran Khan's disunity with the military might have led him to praise India. So far, the army has not allowed any Pakistani prime minister to complete his term.
