TRIPRAYAR: A seven-year-old boy bitten by a rabid dog, died of rabies. The dead has been identified as Akarsh, son of Dinesh and Chithira of Valappad Anchangadi Kizhakkan House. The boy’s pet dog had scratched him three months ago.

The child was reluctant to drink water for two days. He did not show any other symptoms before. He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday night after showing signs of discomfort.

An examination conducted at Thrissur Medical College revealed that he was bitten by the rabid dog. Akash was a second class student of Valappad GDMLP School. He is the only son of the couple.
