HARIPPAD: A DYFI regional secretary was named the main accused in the case of hitting a biker on the head with a helmet. Police have launched an investigation against DYFI Pallippad regional secretary Sulfith. Eight people have been added to the list of accused in the case.
Police have already arrested Ajesh Kumar (28), the fourth accused. The gang, led by Sulfith, attacked Muttom native Sabari (28) at around 6.30 pm last Thursday. They attacked Sabari with a helmet. Sulfith and his gang attacked Sabari after forcibly stopping his bike.
Sources also said that the gang had prevented those who attempted to take the injured youth to the hospital. Sabari, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Ernakulam, is still in critical condition. Sulfith is accused in several cases. Although several people had criticized the move naming Sulfith as DYFI office bearer, the area committee had favoured him.
