KYIV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he was ready for a compromise to end the war. Zelenskyy reiterated that he was ready for talks with Putin. Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine was ready to discuss with Russia to not seek NATO membership if Putin agreed to withdraw Russian troops from Ukraine.

"If Putin guarantees military withdrawal from Ukraine and the security of the people, we will make a decision on not to seek NATO membership. The current situation in the disputed areas in the eastern part of the country should be discussed," Zelenskyy said during an interview with television channels.

He had earlier stated that he was ready to meet with Putin to discuss ending the war. However, he added that any compromises made with Russia to end its invasion would need to be decided by Ukrainians by referendum.
