SRINAGAR: It has been two years since the state of Jammu and Kashmir was stripped of its special status. Now, Gulf Business Summit has sought huge investment opportunities in the region. As part of this, a high-level business delegation from the UAE and Saudi Arabia visited Kashmir. They will also attend the Gulf Business Summit today. Investment opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir will be discussed at the summit. The UAE had earlier agreed to invest in Kashmir. But this is the first time a Saudi Arabian company is planning to invest in Kashmir.
Representatives of 33 companies from countries such as UAE, Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong arrived in Kashmir. CEOs of companies such as Al Hashemi Group, Emirates Royal International Group and Al Tayyar Group in the UAE visited Kashmir. Representatives of the Alpha Sky Group in Saudi also visited Kashmir. The companies are targeting investments in the hospitality and tourism sectors.
