HARIDWAR: Fugitive Sukumara Kurup is always a fond memory in the minds of the Malayalees. His stories are like a thriller film. The Kerala police has obtained some crucial information about Kurup, accused in the Chacko murder case. A team led by Alappuzha crime branch circle inspector Newman has reached Haridwar in search of him.
The investigation has heated up again following revelation of Renseem Ismail, manager of the beverages shop in Pathanamittha. Ismail had revealed that it is suspected that the saint who befriended him 15 years ago in Himand Nagar was Kurup and was in Haridwar for the past few months. Ismail said that he met Kurup while working as a teacher in Himand Nagar in 2007. He said that he met the sanyasi suspected to be of Kurup then and befriended him. He said that he had written to the chief minister in January.
Kurup’s neighbour also said there are chances for the one seen in Haridwar to be that of Kurup. His brother in Poojappura is a colleague of Kuurp. His sister had stated that she had met Kurup in Haridwar five years back.
