ALAPPUZHA: A young man beaten up by a gang died here. The deceased has been identified as Sabari, 28, a native of Cheppadu. He was treated at a hospital in Kochi.

The eight-member team attacked Sabari after blocking him. The incident took place last Thursday evening. Three people, including DYFI regional secretary Zulfith, the first accused in the case, were arrested.
