THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the protest against K-rail intensifies, the government has taken steps to implement measures related to the project as soon as possible. As a result, there are indications that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
It is learned that the meeting will be held before Thursday noon. There are reports that matters related to K-rail will also be discussed. Meanwhile, protests against the project are strengthening in various parts of Kerala. Chief Minister and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan have made it clear that they will proceed with the project.
Meanwhile, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan raised serious allegations against Minister Saji Cherian in connection with K Rail. Thiruvanchoor alleged that the K-rail alignment in Chengannur was changed to protect the minister's house. The Minister should make it clear that who has been benefited from this. Thiruvanchoor said that he will reveal more details if Saji Cherian speaks further on this issue. He also demanded that K Rail MD Ajith Kumar should respond to the change in alignment.
At the same time, Saji Cherian said in response to the allegations that a leader who knew about the project should not have made such a cheap comment. Alignment is determined by satellite. The govt has nothing to do with this. Alignment has not been finalized. A social impact study on this is under progression. Saji Cherian said that there were problems with laying of survey stones.
