hardik-pandya

MUMBAI: Former national team coach Ravi Shastri has said that all-rounder Hardik Pandya is unlikely to return to the Indian team. Hardik, who was once an integral part of the Indian team, was taking a break for treatment following a spinal injury. But reports suggest that Hardik, who is trying to make a comeback through the IPL, has not been able to pull off his old bowling skill.

Ravi Shastri has said that he does not think Hardik will be included in the team for this year's T20 World Cup in Australia. Ravi Shastri said that Hardik will have to make several changes in his bowling action due to injury and this could potentially affect his bowling a lot.

In his opinion, India need an all-rounder at number six and that Hardik will not be able to return to that position without regaining his bowling skill. Shastri said that although Hardik could continue in the IPL as a batsman, for the Indian team his batting skill is not needed as the team already has too many big players.

Ravi Shastri said India needs to improve on fielding and in the fast bowlers' category for the upcoming World Cup and not to worry about batting as that India have plenty of batsmen.
