NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He met Modi seeking permission and centre’s share for the SilverLine Project. The chief minister will brief the media in the evening.

The two held talks at the prime minister’s office in the Parliament House at 11 am. Chief secretary V P Joy and John Brittas MP accompanied the chief minister. The chief minister held talks with the prime minister at a time when strong protests are being staged in the state against SilverLine.

It is believed that the chief minister has sought the approval of the Prime Minister for the project which would be a milestone in the development of the state and pave the way for economic growth and upliftment of the living standards of the people. The chief minister convinced the prime minister that it is a profitable project as the shareholders get a dividend of 13.55%.
