KOCHI: The corporation has launched innovative projects to save Kochi from its mosquito menace. A total of Rs 12 crore has been set aside by the corporation for driving away the mosquito menace in the city. The announcement was made in the Kochi corporation budget for 2022-23.
Initially, the mayor did not specify the project for which the money is set aside. Later, she explained the project following her budget speech.
What has been done till now is not the real way to eliminate mosquitoes. The budget includes innovative methods for mosquito control, said the mayor. Around 200 projects, including mosquito eradication, have been announced in the budget of 1059 crores.
