NEW DELHI: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval said that both India and China should withdraw their troops from the border to normalize relations between the two countries and resolve tensions on the border.


Doval told Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi that there has to be early and complete disengagement in the border areas for India- China ties to move forward.


He reminded China that operations on the border should be equal and should not violate mutual security.

Doval, who responded positively to the invitation to visit China, said he would visit China as soon as the issues between the two sides were resolved.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Delhi yesterday without officially informing India about his visit. Wang Yi had a meeting with Union Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar at 11 a, today.
