NEW DELHI: The prices of essential medicines, including paracetamol, will rise sharply. According to the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority of India, prices of 800 medicines will increase by 10.7 per cent from April.
The prices of 800 medicines for most ailments including fever, infections, heart disease, high blood pressure, skin diseases and anaemia will increase by 10.7 per cent from April 1, the notice read. This includes medicines such as Paracetamol, Metronidazole, Azithromycin, Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride and Phenobarbitone.
Fuel prices in the country are rising day by day. A few days ago, the price of LPG for domestic use was increased by Rs 50. The hike in prices of medicines follows this.
